Cookie Policy
About this policy
This cookie policy explains what cookies are and how we use them. You should read this policy so you can understand what type of cookies we use, the information we collect using cookies and how that information is used.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Notice, which sets out how and why we collect, store, use and share personal information generally, as well as your rights in relation to your personal information. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact info@bluntumbrellas.com.
What are cookies and why do we use them?
A cookie is a small text file that is downloaded onto your device (e.g. computer, mobile phone or tablet), when you visit a website. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer's hard drive and are used to distinguish you from other website users.
Cookies are commonly used to improve the performance of websites, to optimise user experience, and to provide website owners with information on how their website is used. For example, cookies may monitor how many times someone visits a website, which pages are read on that website, and where website users are located. Some of this data will be aggregated or statistical, which means you will not be identified individually.
For further information on cookies generally, including how to control and manage them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org. For information on your privacy rights as a California resident, visit the California Privacy Protection Agency at cppa.ca.gov.
Types of cookies we use
We use the following types of cookies on our website:
Strictly necessary cookies:
These cookies are necessary for the operation of our website. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to navigate our site, and display the correct page for the device you are using. These cookies are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but this may mean that some parts of our website will not work.
Optional cookies:
Analytics / statistical cookies:
These cookies allow us to track visits to our site and traffic sources so we can measure and improve performance. They also help us to understand how visitors move around our site and which pages are the most popular, so that we can optimise our website. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited or how you have used our site.
Functional / preference cookies:
These cookies allow our website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They work by remembering choices made by you, or the way you interact with our website, in order to enhance your experience. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
Marketing / advertising cookies:
These cookies are used by us and our advertising partners — including Meta, Google, and TikTok — to build a profile of your interests, to measure the performance of our advertising, and to show you relevant ads on and off our Site. This includes the Meta Pixel, which sends information about your visit to Meta so that we, and Meta, can measure ad performance and reach people with similar interests. Under California law, use of these cookies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. If you do not allow these cookies, you will see less relevant advertising, and our advertising partners will not receive information about your visit to our Site.
We use 'first party cookies', which are set and collected by us and are only used by our website when you visit it.
Our website, like many others, also uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC ("Google"). This involves cookies used to collect and analyse data about use of the website (which may include the user's IP address). Google stores this data on its servers, including in the United States, and uses this to measure and analyse the use of the website, report on website activity and to provide other services relating to internet usage. Google may also send this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.
We use Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, to understand how visitors interact with our website. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies to record user behaviour, including clicks, scrolls, mouse movements, and page navigation. This data is used to create heatmaps and anonymised session recordings that help us improve site usability and performance.
Clarity sets the following cookies:
● _clck — Stores a unique user ID for Clarity. First-party, persistent, duration: 1 year. Category: Analytics.
● _clsk — Stores session data to connect page views. First-party, persistent, duration: 1 day. Category: Analytics.
● CLID — Client identification across sessions. First-party, persistent, duration: 1 year. Category: Analytics.
● ANONCHK — Confirms genuine user interactions. Third-party (c.bing.com), session. Category: Analytics.
● MR — Analytics data collection. Third-party (c.bing.com), duration: 7 days. Category: Analytics.
● MUID — Microsoft user identifier. Third-party (c.bing.com), duration: 1 year. Category: Analytics.
● SM — Synchronises the MUID cookie across Microsoft domains. Third-party (c.bing.com), session. Category: Analytics.
Microsoft Clarity automatically masks sensitive data such as passwords and payment information. Microsoft acts as an independent data controller for data collected through Clarity. For more information, see Microsoft's Privacy Statement at privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement.
We use accessiBe, an accessibility service provided by accessiBe Inc., to improve the usability of our Site for visitors with disabilities. accessiBe may collect technical information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and information about how you interact with accessibility features, in order to provide and improve its service. For more information, see accessiBe's Privacy Notice at accessibe.com/privacy-notice.
We also use 'third-party cookies' set and collected by our website service providers, advertising partners and our social media service providers. Third parties may use cookies on their own websites, and you may receive cookies delivered from these websites. We have no access to, or control of, these cookies, should this occur. To understand more about third-party cookies used or to deactivate the use of third-party cookies, please visit the relevant provider's websites directly.
Further information about the cookies that we use is set out at the end of this policy.
How long are cookies stored?
Cookies may be either "persistent" or "session" cookies. Persistent cookies consist of a text file sent by a web server to a web browser, that will be stored by the browser and remain valid until a set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date). Session cookies are used by the server to store information about user page activities during a session, so that users can easily pick up where they left off, or store ordering information needed to make shopping carts work. Session cookies expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed. Consent to use cookies We will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies — including analytics, preference, and marketing cookies — on your device, except where they are strictly necessary for us to provide you with a service that you have requested (e.g. to allow you to purchase products on our website). You can accept all cookies, use necessary cookies only, or manage your preferences by category using the cookie consent tool when you first visit our Site.
You may refuse or withdraw consent to the use of cookies, or manage your cookie preferences, at any time by returning to the cookie consent tool or by changing the settings on your browser. It may be necessary to refresh the page for updated settings to take effect.
Managing cookie settings and opting out of cookies
Most browsers have built-in privacy settings that provide differing levels of cookie acceptance, expiration time, and disposal after a user has visited a particular site. You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. Your browser's website should contain instructions on how you can do this.
All U.S. visitors can also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information collected via cookies by using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in the footer of our Site, or by enabling the Global Privacy Control ("GPC") in a supported browser, which we honour automatically, regardless of your state of residence.
Please note, if you block strictly necessary cookies then you may be unable to access certain areas of our website and certain pages will not function properly. We cannot accept liability for any malfunctioning of your device or its installed web browser as a result of any attempt to turn off cookies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know, but please do check this policy regularly to ensure you are aware of the most current version.
